Sing a Song of Joy

Happy Thursday everyone!

I've had this card ready and photographed since Monday. So, I guess I better get it posted in order to enter it into QKR Rubber Stampede Challenge #271 Anything Goes.

This is why I am one of the best procrastinators. Everyone has to be good at something, right?

I started by coloring then cutting my sweet angel with the Silhouette Cameo. Then I went shopping at the Silhouette Design Store to find something that would go wither her. What could be better than an pop-up card with clouds?

The design actually had it's own angel so I just swapped it out for mine.

Here is a different view to show the cloud she stands on.

This is the front of the card.  The "Joy" is a Silhouette design also.

  • Stamp -  Eureka Caroling Angel
  • Paper- White cardstock, white glitter cardstock, Recollection's pattern paper
  • Silhouette Designs - Pop-up card and "Joy".
  • Die -  Marianne Design Frilly Square & Memory Box Curled Ribbon
  • Medium - Copic Markers and Blue Gel Pen

Rounding Up

Remember when we were all excited about our first circle and square dies? OMG, I could actually cut a circle or square in the middle of the card without that without a knife and template (which I never mastered).  Now I have so many dies and I've totally forgotten about my circles and squares.

I have used my old and circle die and the really fancy scallop circle die to frame Santa. This is a very old PSX Santa Stamp that belongs to a friend and if she every wants to get rid of it, I would take it off her hands in a minute.

Isn't he just gorgeous?  There is another PSX Santa on Ebay that I have my eye on. Woops! It just jumped into my cart.

I made this one an easel card.

Copic Markers colored him up.

He has a lot of sparkle

Dallas Cowgirl

My youngest son is a Dallas Cowboy fan, so when I saw this QKR Digi #16004 I just new she was a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader.

I brought the image into the Silhouette Cameo, printed then cut her out.  I colored her up with Copic markers B34, C3, E000, E00, E41, R02, T8 & Y21.

The sentiment was PC generated and I used one of the Memory Box Stitched Clouds to cut it out and placed a couple more clouds in the background. I added the pink tree on the side, which was cut with Memory Box's Love Branch.

For the background I used paper from a Molly and Rex 6X6 pad that I think was purchased at Michael's. I embossed the square frame a Memory Box Stitched Square die. I used another pretty print behind it from that same pad for additional interest.

I can't believe I did this, but I cut the front background in the middle of the 6X6 paper which allowed me to use it on the inside.(Happy accident)!

I used a Paper Trey Ink rick-rack die at the bottom.  The sentiments are Penny Black (top) and

Hampton Art (bottom).

And this is where I got my Inspiration.
I Think my granddaughter Emmy was about 3 when this was taken.

I am entering this little angel in QKR Stampede Challenge #268 Angels.

Wisconsin Fall

Hello friends! Today I have a card made as a challenge given to me by my friend from Wisconsin.  We both were to make and post a card to Splitcoast Stampers this week. It took me to Friday but I got it done.

For Me this card has more items than usual. I started by printing this Power Poppy's Olive and Oak digital stamp and cutting it with the Silhouette Cameo. The image was colored using Copic markers.

I used the sentiment from Power Poppy's Gerbera Daisy Collection digital Stamp on the inside.

The other Items I used:

Spellbinders Dies
We R Memory Keepers Embossing Folder
Tim Holt's Distressed Ink - Victorian Velvet
Graphic 45 Children's Hour Collection
Stickles

Challenges I am entering:

using  one of these images as inspiration.

Happy November everyone!

Great! You found me!

Welcome to Pretty Paper Junkie's first post.
Instead of trying to breath new life into a sorely neglected blog I though I would try to start over.

If you followed me as Pop Paper Scissors, you know that I have not posted for many months.  My
creativity came to a halt as I focused on taking care of my husband. Sadly, all the love and care my children and I gave, could not keep him with us. My sweetheart got his wings August 27th, 2017.

Maybe I shared too much, but I want you to know I am going to be okay.  Creating and blogging has been something I enjoyed and now I am going to use it again to help with the healing.

The new blog is still under construction, but I do have a project to share with you.

I made that little broom by rolling up some red card stock

and some burlap ribbon (same ribbon used to wrap

around the base). Then I wound some red wire around both

to tie them together. The pumpkins and berries were

plucked off some floral picks I bought at Michaels.

The flowers in the little window flower boxes are

some old stickers I found in my spare parts box.

My lack of photo skills are pretty obvious here but I

wanted to show all lit up. (I looks like I placed the roof

lid on on a little crooked too.) The glitter paper shows up,

but but the colors are all wrong.

This was project was created using an SVG Cuts  cutting file.  Love that company.  You should take a look. All the  papers I used are from DCWV.  The patterned paper is DCWV's Tim Coffey paper pad and has the most delicious fall papers.
The foil roof was embossed with a Cuttle Bug EF.
Let's see, is that it? Yup
