Christmas Gnome

You probably wouldn't guess that I am in love with gnomes! Snowmen are my 1st love and gnomes are a close 2nd.

I'm entering my Christmas Gnome in the Double D's latest Challenge, "Christmas in July"

Of course, I had to use my Silhouette Cameo to cut out this handsome guy.  I cut the gnome and garland separately and used dimensional dots. I also used dimensional dots to pop up the snowflake die.

I have found a lead pencil works the best to define his beard. I used Copics and Copic Opaque White to give a little dimension to the dots on his hat.

Recipe:
Star JamLines (Digi)
White and green cardstock
Craft Smith Crystal Frost cardstock
Memory Box Scattered Snowflake Frame
Silhouette Cameo
Copics & Copic Opaque White
Lead pencil

It's me again!

A person with a blog should post at least every two years right?  Well, I moved. The basement was unfinished. That took a year and I now have a fabulous craft room.  But wait... now I need to remodel the kitchen. So here I am two years later and I have the new craft room, bought myself a Silhouette Cameo 4, and a new laser printer.  Now I am out of excuses.

So I went to my favorite inspiration blog,

This is my entry

This is one of many Star Jamlines digis that I bought off of Etsy a year or so ago. I went back to see if there was anything new and Star JamLines is no longer selling on Etsy.  Trinity Stamps is selling gnomes that look like they may be by the same artist.

Before I colored him up with my Zig watercolor brush markers, I scanned the image into my Silhouette and traced him. Since I wanted to pop up his hands and the flowers, so I isolated them and cut them separately with the Silhouette. It took a little work to do this, but it's saved for me to use whenever.

I fell in love again with the first touch of the watercolor marker.  I had so much fun creating that I really have to make more cards.  (I still struggle with posting.)

Used for this card:
Star JamLines digi
"Smile" from Silhouette Design Store
Zig watercolor markers
water color pencil (for the beard)
pop-dots
White Cardstock
Yellow Cardstock
Stitched die frame (Not sure what company)

And here I am again!

I bet you think I haven't made a card in 6 months. Well I have, but I've usually so far behind that I'm racing to the mailbox and I don't even have time to photo them. There are some that I gave to my children that were finished Christmas Eve. Maybe I'll ask for them back so I can take pictures. Ha ha!

Being the last minute gal that I am, I finished this one too late to make it into a challenge. I did however have time to photo it before it got mailed off.

This is crazy, because I didn't think I even liked Gnomes!  I found this artist, Star JamLines, that makes the cutest digis. This digi happened to be holding a heart, but with the Silhouette software I was able to swap it out for a Clip Art shamrock. The Silhouette traced and cut out this sweet little guy and the "lucky" is from their design store.

The inside is a pop-up purchased from the Silhouette Design store.

I hope everyone is well and safe. My family and friends are healthy as am I.

I choose to be happy :)
